Jennifer Garner proved that exes can be friends with her sweet birthday shoutout to her ex-boyfriend, Michael Vartan.
The two dated sometime in 2004, and not only that, but they also served as co-stars in the early ’00s ABC series Alias, created by J.J. Abrams.
“I can’t remember why I was Bavarian, but I do know today is your birthday,” she quipped in the caption of her Nov. 27 Inst agram post that showed the two actors on set and in costume. “I hope it’s a great one, Michael!”
Garner, now 51, concluded, signing off as Sydney Bristow, the character she portrayed in the fan-favorite thriller series, “XX S. Bristow.”
Fans wasted absolutely no time sharing their delight over Garner’s throwback post and begging for a reboot in the comments.
“Now this…. THIS is a series that deserves the legacy sequel treatment,” one top-liked comment read.
“…aaaaaaaaand this is my cue to start my yearly Alias rewatch,” another quipped.
“Absolutely loved this show. Named My daughter after you,” a third shared. “Sydney Bristow and my husband is a Vaughn so her name is Sydney Vaughn!!”
“Alias, is still one of my favourite tv shows ,” someone else admitted.
“This show gave me life during a stretch of time that I really needed it,” another gushed. Will always appreciate you.”
Garner’s followers even took the opportunity to shoot their shot with Vartan, who played Michael Vaughn in the series, as one confessed, “He was my first celeb crush. Forever a babe!”
“You two were the best!” a different fan cheered. “And he is sooo handsome.”
Though the pair’s romantic relationship didn’t last, with Garner going on to date her now-ex-husband Ben Affleck and Vartan later moving on with his now-ex-wife Lauren Skaar, the bond between the former co-stars is clearly still intact.
