Golden Globes 2024: Jennifer Lopez says her earrings had a special meaning for husband Ben Affleck: ‘They’re an Easter egg’

The singer, 54, told Extra that her hummingbird earrings from Boucheron were a nod to her husband Ben Affleck as they are ‘messengers of love’ and when fans see her new film, they will get it.
‘My earrings have a hummingbird — it’s hummingbird season. As you will see, these are little Easter eggs from my project, you will know what they mean when you see the film… It’s on Amazon February 16,’ said Lopez to Extra on Sunday.
She wore diamond studded earrings that showed little flying hummingbirds.
Hummingbirds are a theme for her new album and movie This Is Me… Now, a follow up to This Is Me… Then from 20 years ago.
When she came out with This Is Me… Then she was engaged to Affleck. Now with This Is Me… Now she is married to him.

She also had on a hummingbird ring from Boucheron.
In the past she said she admired hummingbirds because they can do so much: ‘They’re very agile — can fly forward, backward, and up and down.’
She also said: To me, are messengers of love.’
She also told Extra, ‘It’s a project that’s been so many years in the making since I did This Is Me… Then, I never thought there would be a This Is Me… Now album 20 years later, but as fate would have it the same inspiration hit me and so I did it.
‘I made a film, and the first video is coming out Wednesday. I’m excited.
‘We can’t take ourselves too seriously. Life is up and down… This project kind of encompasses a big journey for me. I put my whole heart and soul into it.’
When she was asked about her passion for music, the singer said, ‘I have such a passion for my music. I started as a dancer… I love doing films… I got to do all of it in one — I’m acting, I’m singing, I’m dancing, I’m writing, I’m creating, I’m doing all the costumes… I had my hands in all of it… I’m in all the details of it… When you’re the music artist you get to really dictate and say how you want it to be. This is the first film that I got to really have that kind of creative license over.’

As she arrived for the ceremony, Jennifer appeared to be working the red carpet predominantly by herself, as one of the most viral moments occurred when she was asked how she knows if this will be her ‘last’ marriage.
When she was asked how she knows that ‘this is it,’ she responded to a reporter from Variety: ‘Because when they say, “You know,” you know.’

“And other times when you didn’t know… you also didn’t know,” she then said with a laugh, adding: ‘I think you always go in with the best of intentions every single time that you ever leap into anything.’
Fans flocked to social media to express their surprise and also discontent that she was asked that ‘awkward’ question.
‘It’s such a mess,’ one social media user wrote. ‘The host Marc just kinda shamed JLo about her multiple marriages lol he asked how she knows if this current one to Ben is gonna last’.
‘HE DID NOT JUST ASK JLO THAT OMG,’ another wrote.
Others tweeted about how the red carpet show was ‘so so cringe’ and called it ‘garbage’.
Another said it was ‘so inappropriate’ and ‘hella cringe’ to ask her ‘how she knows this is her last marriage while she’s there supporting her husband’.
While posing on the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, she carried a pink, crystal-covered clutch to go with her dress with a dramatic sweeping train.
Lopez and Affleck sat at a table alongside Matt Damon and his spouse, Luciana Barroso, at the luxe event.
The childhood friends Affleck and Damon – who won an Oscar in 1998 for writing Good Will Hunting – are coming off their collaboration on the 2023 film Air.
