Jennifer Lopez still cares deeply about Ben Affleck’s three kids despite their marital woes.
The singer has reportedly made spending time with the actor’s children — Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12 — a top priority after returning from her weeks-long trip to the Hamptons.
“Just because she’s not with Ben, doesn’t mean that she doesn’t care about his kids,” a source told People on Monday. “She always cared about them.”
Lopez, 55, reportedly “wants to spend quality time with them before school resumes” and Violet, whom she is especially close with, heads off to college.
The insider noted that Lopez truly wanted their marriage to work — evidenced by the fact that she “spent months looking for the perfect house for their blended family last year.”
Similarly, a source told Page Six earlier this month that Lopez is extremely upset about how their split might impact their kids.
“There are five kids involved in this,” the insider told us. “She knew they were going to blend families. She has not fully accepted it is over.”
The couple purchased a 38,000-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion in June 2023 so that they could all live under one roof. However, they listed the home for $68 million in July.
Since then, Lopez has been touring several homes in the same area while the 51-year-old actor snapped up a $20 million equestrian home in the ritzy Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles last month.
Although the twosome reportedly hadn’t seen each other in over a month, they came face to face Sunday afternoon.
The “Hustlers” actress stopped by Affleck’s rental home following a fun day at the mall with his son, Samuel.
Lopez and the tween went to Century City Mall for almost three hours, where they were spotted making a few pricey purchases and walking with their arms around each other.
While they were on a shopping spree, Lopez’s 16-year-old Emme was back at the house hanging out with Seraphina. The step-siblings grew close following Affleck and Lopez’s July 2022 wedding.
Lopez shares Emme and twin Max with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Affleck co-parents his three kids with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
After dropping all the kids off at their respective homes, Lopez headed over to her estranged husband’s home, where she stayed for close to five hours.
The pair first sparkled split rumors in May after the “Wedding Planner” star showed up to the Met Gala solo — despite being one of the event’s co-chairs.
Since then, they’ve reportedly relied on their managers to hash out the details of their split before officially filing for divorce.
However, we’re told Lopez is “furious” about their failed marriage and that the “protective” Oscar winner is holding off on filing any paperwork to spare her more embarrassment.
“He has humiliated her,” a source told us earlier this month. “He was the one who initiated getting back together.”
The “Gigli” co-stars first started dating in 2002 but called off their engagement just two years later.
One of the estranged couple’s friends told us they got caught up in the nostalgia of being together after spending so many years wondering about the “unfinished business.”
“In the end, it’s gonna be the most elaborate and expensive exercise in closure ever,” they said.
