Talking to ‘Time’ magazine, pop icon Taylor Swift revealed how her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce began. She said that it started after Kelce expressed an interest in meeting her on his ‘New Heights’ podcast with his brother.
She said, “This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell.” The singer-songwriter said that she and the tight end started hanging out right after that and actually had a significant amount of time to know each other.
First public appearance together
Taylor Swift also made a revelation that though their first public-facing appearance together came at the Chiefs vs. Bears game in Week 3, it was not the first date. She explained, “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
Decision to make relationship public
Swift also said that their desire to show up for one another is part of what ultimately fueled their decision to take the relationship public. She told ‘Time’, “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care.”
She added further, “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
